Hiking Mount Marcy: The Highest Point in NY State
The Adirondacks are a very scenic part of the great USA. If you are lucky enough to visit there and have some time for hiking, make it a point to hike Mt. Marcy.

Hiking Gros Morne Mountain
If you visit the Great Northern Peninsula (GNP), make a point to see, and hopefully hike, Newfoundland's second highest point (806 m) - Gros Morne Mountain, which is located in Gros Morne National Park.

Tonight I urged a micro-adventure, so tonight I used my Salomon Spikecross to handle the task:

Sunday Mornings!
The weather was a balmy -1 C (great for St. John's in February) and my heel was feeling great, so I decided to go for a run/walk from the homestead to MUN. It was more of a run/walk since I do not want to bring back the plantar fasciitis pain from a few months ago. Trail conditions were decent, with some ice in places, but the view at the top of Mt. Scio was fantastic! The total distance was about 4.5 km and it took about 35 mins, so I was sort of happy with my pace. I can't wait to head out again for another one!
St. John's from Mt. Scio...it surely doesn't feel like February |
